Inspired is a 2 term / 12 week re-integration and social awareness programme for young people aged 11-16 years, which provides local schools and students with extra support above and beyond that already operating through schools' SEN departments and/or Inclusion units.
It provides an informal education programme through youth and community work values. The programme is accredited through the ASDAN awards programme, CoPE and /or Wider Key Skills certificate.

Referral / Entry Criterial?
Student must meet two of the following criteria;
Students who have behaviour support specified on their statements.
Students presenting persistent or extreme behaviour in lessons (e.g. high level disruption, non-compliance, outright defiance, major incidents.)
Students who are actively aggressive to peers and staff
School phobic's and truants returning to school after a period of absence
Students at rish of exclusion (Fixed-Term and / or Permanent)
Students who need respite from an emotional crisis
Students who present social and behavioural problems in unstructured times
Students returning from fixed-term exclusion
Students / Young people at risk of offending
Students who have poor school attendance
Students who are disaafected and /or are socially excluded (e.g. low self-esteem and confidence)
Students who have been permanently excluded from school (e.g. on roll at a registered Pupil Referral Unit)

Provision Form? 'Inspired' is a 2 term / 12 week programme. Schools/referring agencies can choose between the:
1 x day a week for 6 hours OR
2 x half-days a week - 2x3 hour sessions (can be mornings or afternoons, or a combination of both)
The programme runs during term-time only, Monday to Friday.

information on the accreditation on offer for the
'Inspired' Programme. Please note that
accreditation is not guaranteed and is dependent on the
student completing the full course and work set. It is
also dependent on the 'participants' age, ability, aptitude
and any additional needs they may have as well as the
length of time they are on the programme. Schools /
referring agencies will need to choose which accreditation they would prefer upon referral: |

WHEN CAN I MAKE A BOOKING / REFERRAL? Bookings / Referrals can be made at any time of
the academic year.
The Programme will take place during term-time
only, Monday to Friday.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAMME?
WORKSHOPS: Workshops on sexual health, drugs awareness,
crime, health, fitness and nutrition (e.g. how to live a healthy
lifestyle)
INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS: Students will be allocated a
'mentor' who will provide them with ongoing support during
the programme. The 'mentor' will complete an action plan
with every student at the start of the programme. This action
plan will be reviewed half-way through the programme and at
the end of the programme with every individual student.
STRUCTURED SESSIONS: This time will be used for
ASDAN accreditation
UNSTRUCTURED TIMES: Students will be given regular
short breaks, enabling them to take time out and socialise
with one another in a safe place, with a wide range of
enjoyable activities available e.g. football, basketball, pool,
gaming machines, board games, ICT, rounders, hockey, TV / DVD / Film etc
ACTIVITY DAYS: Students will have the opportunity to take
part in fun, team-building and / or outward bound, adventure
activities during the programme which aim to increase their
self-esteem and confidence as well as teach them new skills.
For example mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, climbing,
abseiling etc.
WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT OF AT LEAST 1 DAY (over the duration of the programme) (Key Stage 4 only).
This element of the programme is optional and costs £20
per individual student.
